Regular or Electric toothbrush?

People use different toothbrushes. Regular ones are cheaper, and they can be used for a long time and are better for the enviromment. Electric ones need battery, and when you don't have any, you usely throw the battery away. The widespread use of the batteries has created many evironmental concerns, such as toxic metal pollution. That's why if you throw away your used batteries, make sure to recycle them. Electric toothbrushes can be also good for the enviromment, only if you use recheargeable batteries, so you can use your toothbrush for a longer time.

Earth day

This website, has a bunch of fun games, like the game we played last year in computers,Michael Michael go recycle. When you recycle, it help reduce pollution. When someone litters, tell them to pick what they threw on the ground up. Also when you leave a room, turn out the lights. this will help reduce energy, and then you can save money too! By turning out a light, then the bulb will last longer, and you don't have to waste your money. This is the link to the website. http://resources.kaboose.com/games/earthday.html

Some questions:
What else you can do to help pollution?
Is it better to a regular tooth brush, or an electric one?
Can your tooth brush cause pollution?

Why Should We Care?

Most of us here at QSI Kosice have pretty great lives. We live in warm homes with hot water, plenty of access to yummy food, water that runs clean right out of the tap, lights that go on and off when we tell them to, not to mention clothes and books and toys and games and...need I go on?

It might not make sense, then, when teachers and parents and people on tv talk about "saving the environment." Our environment is just fine, right? Look at everything we have! The thing is, the things we have come from all over the world, and not everywhere in the world is doing as well as we are. And guess what? We're not the only people on the planet! We share this space with other humans, animals and plants, and it's important that we all take care of one another in order to keep the earth balanced.

Check out this cool slideshow from the American Museum of Natural History's "Ology" webpage and get some more information on the importance of biodiversity. What is biodiversity? Why does it matter?
