Most people do recycling, and things like it only when it's Earthday/April, but people, we have to do this all the time! So, and recycling is a one thing you can do to help Earth but it helps Sooooooooooooooo much. Another to help, is on a holiday when you wrap presents, you can make your own wrapping paper and when you GET presents make sure to RECYCLE!!!! Think, you can make your own things from home and not buy them in the shop; or at least recycle. List things that could help recycle and will bu fun. And do you get why the person who made the game Michale Michale Go Recycle made it??? I dont. Well, probably because he just made a game for kids to play so. well, im gonna play it. Bye :)

planting trees

planting trees is like one of the traditional earth day custom type things. but why do we plant trees?? we plant trees because they absorb carbon dioxide, and give out oxygen, which we can breathe. trees can absorb 700-7000 pounds of carbon dioxide in their lifetime. also, if a tree is above your house it can give off shade and stop you from turning on the air conditioner, saving energy. on another website (not on the list) i read that trees also filter polution from the air, recycle water, and prevent soil loss. planting trees also helps prevent global warming. also, i saw a t.v show once, that said the earth has lost many forests due to mankind, hurricanes, and so forth. i also saw that they were trying to replant a forest with seeds in canesters of some sort dropped from the air instead of manual labor. that particular forest was destroyed by a hurricane, and was a mangrove forsest. (BTW mangrove trees really help stop global warming & take lots of carbon dioxide in and produce lots of oxygen) i hope you liked my post!! :D

Looking after the earth is a great resonsibility and we aren't taking much care towards it. So here are a couple of things we could do to save the earth...

Water, for example the average human uses 200 gallons of water a day . To provent this we could use a shower instead of a bath, also don't leave the tap running when you brush your teeth.

Green house gas, if we leave the car at home for just two day out of a week we could save 1,950 pound of fuel and pollution.

However this is just a small percentage of the things we could do to help improve the world we live in.

Although we can never get rid of all the green house gases beacuse the produces some naturaly.

people DON'T realise that, by turning on lights at your home, in night time, they waiste our energy, our power, our life, and other living things life. if we keep those sdtupid lights on when we don't need them(wich many peoples do) earth's energy is waisted, for what??? NOTHING. Please, to protect all living things, do not keep lights on, computer on, tv on, radio on, cell phone on, nintendo DS, PSP or other games machine to when you don't use them. and please don't use them to much.
I would also like to talk to you about the WATER POLLUTION, an other thing that make huge trouble. peoples throw stuff on the ground and sometimes, this "thing" is transported by the wind until it gows in the ocean. On a website(http://www.water-pollution.org.uk/causes.html), I found tons of interesting things for water pollution!!!the chart bellow will show you how long it takes for certain oblect degrade in the water.

object and the time it takes to degrade in water.

cardboard 2 weeks
newspaper 6 weeks
phototdegradable packaging 6 weeks
foam 50 years
styrofoam 80 years
aluminium 200 years
plastick packaging 400 years
glass it is so long that humain don't know the exact time.

imagine, all the time it'll take for those things to desolve. imagine all the polluting their is on earth during this time, and imagine the nubers of animals that dies in all this time!!!

The third thing I'll talk about is the acid rain. acid rain is created when the rain is polluted by the gases from chemine. it creat a poluted water that falls into seas, river, lakes... and make animals that live in harmed.

as a forth thing I'll talk to you about som eutrophication. Fertilisers are often use by farmers and sometimes the fertiliser run off in nearby water. this causes phytoplankton to grow and reduce more rapidly, resulting in algas bloom. The algae may use all the oxigen in water, living none for other marine life. this causes many aquatic organism(fish as exemple) that make them not have the oxygen they need in water. the bloom of the algae might also block sun light from other water plants, wich kill them. some alguae even produce toxin that are harmful to higher forms of life. it can cause problem for food chain and affect any animals that feeds on algue. So if a day you're a farmer, don't use fertilisers.

I hope you liked the post.
sorry for the mistakes.
Hugo.

WHAT CAN WE DO?????

I found out about kids and adults living in Africa. The water they have there is gross. They have to drink out of these animal bathroom lakes. Lots of people are dyeing because of this. There environment is horrible and its just getting worse!! What do you think we can do to help their environment and them???

SWEET SOLAR RIDES!!!

Most of us every morning go through the same routine wake up, eat breakfast, get dressed and climb into our normal gas-powered
cars. But now we have a new type of car called a solar car. This car gets moving every morning
by the sun's energy. The top of the car is more like a very flat shiny square metal plate. This prevents
pollution and energy. People find this kind of energy very helpful so now people also use it for homes. The reason the sun is attracted
to it is because of- well have you ever been in a green house? Well its just like that except a green house is for warmth and a solar car
is for energy!!!

Energy

What has the Earth gave to you? A home, air, energy, a life as well! So as I said in my last post, make a sign above your hamper saying "Clothes still clean?, wear them again." This can save energy, and water! On Youtube their is a song about energy, (from school house rock, rated G)http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=school+house+rock+energy+blues&aq=1 A good song to watch!
So, what did you learn in that song? Here is a question : What is better to take? A car or a bus? Hope you liked the post?

I got an idea for this post by looking at Green Guide for kids. Then came up recycling. I looked on google earth day facts and can you believe this? More than 20,000,000 Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using 133 square miles of tinfoil. All that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it. So the next time you go to throw something away, think to yourself can this be recycled? Poor trees...also, try to help the earth each day, so down in your comments put something you did that helped the earth today. Even if it is something little like turning your lights off. It can help a lot! I went up to my room to see if I could help and write it here and instead I found papers that were recycled to make a school journal, in the journal is papers that say facts you can do, for example :
Show Earth Love, Shut the lights off
Poor Ducks. In the duck pond people throw trash is their pond. Here is a mini poem to help you remember Keep ducks wings safe from plastic rings.
Dolphins need clean ocean water and so do the other sea creatures.
Make a sign above your dirty clothes hamper saying STOP. Clothes still clean? wear them again.
Here are some recycle questions below:
Can you recycle....
newspapers?
magazines?
finished homework?
office papers?
junk mail?
envelopes?
calendars?
cereal boxes?
other boxes as well?
paper grocery bags?

Instead of using a paper lunch bag, you can get a reusable lunchbox! Most of us do! So, Great job, you are already saving the earth and you may already didn't know that!

This week's authors...

...are Gillen and Sarah (because Gillen reminded me). Your job as authors is to study one or more of the websites on the link list (to the right of this post) and report on what you find! Remember to ask a couple of questions at the end of your post so people have something to comment about. Go for it!
