Regular or Electric toothbrush?

People use different toothbrushes. Regular ones are cheaper, and they can be used for a long time and are better for the enviromment. Electric ones need battery, and when you don't have any, you usely throw the battery away. The widespread use of the batteries has created many evironmental concerns, such as toxic metal pollution. That's why if you throw away your used batteries, make sure to recycle them. Electric toothbrushes can be also good for the enviromment, only if you use recheargeable batteries, so you can use your toothbrush for a longer time.

  4. Nice post, Alicia. I have gone back and forth between using disposable toothbrushes and electric. I think when I move back to the US I will get a nice electric toothbrush and use it forever and ever!

And yes you need one more post.

  5. i think you have a point, electric toothbrushes ARE good for the enviroment, as long as you reuse the batteries, or give them to some place that reuses old batteries. we do that with our batteries that aren't rechargeble. But is using disposible toothbrushes wasteful?????

  7. Yes I think Vincent is right, we need to recycle the batteries. I did use an eletric toothbrush once and then I moved on to plain brushes because they were exspensive, but I didn't think about recycleing the batteries in them, so I could have used it over, and over again!!

  10. Did you know you can recycle your used batteries here at school? They have a container next to the women who sit in the front entrance of the building. If you don't see it you can always give to me (Ms. Steiman) I have a bin in my room...
